MY GOD, MY ROCK

I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the strength of my salvation, my stronghold. [Psalm 18:1-2 (GW)]

Isn’t it nice knowing that we don’t have to do it all on our own? We don’t have to save ourselves, carry the burdens of others or solve the world’s problems alone! We have a rock on which to lean, a shield to protect us, a source of strength to endure all things, and a place of safety in which to find comfort. Thank you God for being our Rock!

LET THE SON SHINE

2-2-13 sunflower - Son shineWEBYes, God loved the world so much that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. [John 3:16 (ERV)]

Truly, while we let the Son shine on our lives, a little sun shine on us certainly helps, too! I’m not naive enough to think that a little time outdoors is all we need, but it helps. It’s got a double benefit: it not only works off calories, it also gives us an opportunity to have a chat with God in His beautiful and blessed house!

May you feel the power of God’s love today and may his Son shine in your heart!

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feels that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. [Anne Frank]

TRUST IN THE LORD

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. [Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)]

Forgive us, Lord, but sometimes the challenges of this life keep us from feeling your presence and knowing your love. It isn’t that you are not there; we are simply not looking! Open our eyes to your glory. Reassure us of your loving presence and help us see your hand in all that happens. Guide us in the steps we take today.
