TRITE BUT TRUE

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. [James 1:2-3 (GW)]

It may be trite, but being trite doesn’t keep it from being true: inside every problem is a hidden blessing. It’s up to us to find it!

Every problem comes gift wrapped in a package that also contains a creative solution. Your job is to accept both gifts. [Marie T. Freeman]

HIS GRACE IS ALL WE NEED

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” [2 Corinthians 12:9a (NLT)]

I surrender, Lord. On my own, I am powerless. But, by your power, all things are possible. Thank you for your gift of grace.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. [Philippians 4:13 (NLT)]

Hope

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – my Savior and my God! [Psalm 42:5 (NLT)]

Fill my heart with gratitude, O Lord, and keep my lips from complaint. Fill me with hope and optimism so that I can see the positive in all things.

A MUSTARD SEED

2013-6-23I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. [Matthew 17:20-21 (NLT)]

Lord, give me the confidence to believe that, indeed, all things are possible.

WHAT IS FAITH?

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. [Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)]

Lord, it takes a leap of faith to believe but it is a leap I want to take!

Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.
[Max Lucado, from “He Still Moves Stones”]

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. [Martin Luther King, Jr.]
